The Heath ladies announced their comeback to the rounders scene with an emphatic victory over Clonaslee on The Heath on Sunday morning.
The foundations were laid by good batting in the first innings by Danielle Keane where The Heath went 2-1 up after the first innings and they never relinquished the lead from there on in.
The Heath started to dominate the game with excellent bowling from Keane and brilliant fielding from Shauna Redmond and Aoife Boyle which kept Clonaslee at bay.
Despite the best efforts from the Clonaslee ladies they fell short and a comeback never materialised.
The Heath built up a lead of 9 runs to 2 after the fourth innings and the game was all but over.
The Heath showed their experience and pulled away in the 5th inning and won the match on a scoreline of 16-4
Next up for The Heath Rounders is the turn of the men, where they start the defence of the All Ireland title against Sean Connolly’s in Longford in two weeks time.
