Laois girls set to represent the Midlands at prestigious Gaynor Cup competitions

Three Laois girls are all set to represent the Midlands Schoolboys/Schoolgirls league at the upcoming Gaynor Cup tournaments later this month.

The U-14 and U-16 Gaynor Cup tournaments take place in UL from the June 21 to 24.

Emily Corbet from Clonaslee, who plays her club football with Killeigh, is the sole Laois representative in the U-16 squad.

There are two Laois representatives in the U-14 squad with Neala Byrne from Killenard, who plays her club football with Tullamore, and Orla Whelan from Rosenallis, who plays her club football with Killeigh.

This June will be a busy month for both Orla and Neala as they will also represent Laois in the 2018 camogie and football Feile competitions.

Orla plays camogie for O’Moore’s who are off to Portumna this weekend.

While Neala plays football with St. Conleth’s who are in the Feile finals next weekend.
