Rathdowney and Abbeyleix SuperValu Fun Runs set to raise €5k

Rathdowney-Errill hosting a fun run

Rathdowney and Abbeyleix SuperValus have organized two Family Fun Run/Walks this Sunday, July 15.

The funds raised by the event will go towards the Cuisle Centre in Portlaoise, with the stores hoping to reach a target of €5,000.

The day kicks off from the Square in Rathdowney at 10am. The Run/Walk takes place on an open road with traffic so caution is advised.

There will be a water station in Bealady graveyard and co-operation with the event marshals will be imperative.

The second race of the day takes place in Abbeyleix at 12pm. A safety briefing will take place at 11:50am.

The route begins and finishes at the Abbeyleix GAA grounds. There will be refreshments served here after the race.

Registration takes place from 9:30am on Friday 14 at both stores, but you can also sign up on the morning of the run.

The fee for Adult’s is €10, while kids U-16 are free. Children must be accompanied at all times.

SuperValu’s Facebook pages say: “Bring a friend, enjoy the walk/run, have some fun and raise funds for a great cause.”

If you can’t attend on the day, you can still donate to the cause here: Breslin’s SuperValu 5k for €5k
