In Pictures: O’Dempsey’s celebrate Division 1A success

Mark Barry celebrates with his family and girlfriend following O'Dempsey's Division 1A win

For the second successive year, O’Dempsey’s were crowned Division 1A champions last night.

Under the stewardship of Rhode man Pat Daly this year, O’Dempsey’s were full value for their win over St Joseph’s.

This was the third year in a row that the Kellyville men had lost the final and it marks the end of a very unsuccessful run of finals for the club this year.

St Joseph’s had previously lost the Division 5 and Division 2 football finals in the last week.

A first half penalty from captain Conor Meredith gave O’Dempsey’s the cushion they needed at the end of the first half.

They gained the lead and then saw it through to full time – fending off a number of mini revivals from St Joseph’s along the way.

Both teams will now turn their attentions to the championship where O’Dempsey’s face Graiguecullen and St Joseph’s take on The Heath.

Our Photographer Julie Anne Miller was on hand to gather all the celebration shots at full time:
