Laois housing estate to be auctioned online this week

An estate of 18 houses in Laois could be yours for just over €1 million.

The portfolio of 18 houses in Borris-in-Ossory will be offered for sale in an on-line auction through BidX1 this Wednesday, July 18, at 8 am, with the reserve not to exceed €1,250,000.

The portfolio is a mix of 7 x four-bedroom and 11 x three-bedroom houses.

The sale will attract stamp duty of €15,000 – the government tax on property sales.

An online mortgage calculator show that a purchaser who has a 10% deposit will then be able to service the loan at a cost of approximately €4,300 over a 35-year term.

All properties are described as two storey beneath pitched roofs and feature gardens to the front and rear.

The properties are at varying stages of completion.

Foundations and blockwork have also been started for an additional 4 houses.

We are informed that the properties range in size from 115 sq. m – 171 sq. m (1,243 sq. ft – 1,849 sq. ft).

Local amenities include a wide range of shops, bars and restaurants.

Transport links in the area include Ballybrophy Train Station and the M7 Motorway.

The subject development is situated to the west of the village and can be accessed via the R445 on to the Rock Road.
