Relegated from the senior ranks last year to end an 11-year stay in the top tier, Mountmellick got back on track in their bid to go straight back up thanks to a comprehensive win over Barrowhouse.

Played in horrible conditions in Ratheniska, they were 3-6 to 0-4 up at the break, the goals coming from two James Mullaney efforts and one from Mark Grennan.

Karl Donoher got another for Mountmellick in the second half and although Andrew Baldwin and sub Sean Langton found the net for Barrowhouse, Mountmellick were comfortable winners in the end.
