In Pictures: Friends of Portlaoise Hospital table quiz proves to be a huge success

The Friends of Portlaoise Hospital recently held a table quiz on the 10th of August 2018 in Kavanagh’s Pub Portlaoise.

The table quiz was organised to raise essential funds for The Midlands Regional Hospital, Portlaoise. It proved to be a very successful night as the hard working committee managed to raise €1,343.

The night started off great with lots of competition. There were a large number of teams in attendance in order to support our local hospital.

Raffles on the night

An excellent raffle also took place after the quiz with a large range of fantastic prizes all donated very kindly by local businesses.

Chairman Richard Sydes said, “It was a hugely successful night and we would like to that all those for their support on the night and over the years.

“We would like to give a special thanks to the local businesses and to the volunteers on the night. Quiz Master-Paul Byrne, Collectors Correctors and ticket sellers Sarah Preston, Emily Maher, Owen Dunne, Aisling McAuley and treasurer Tom Timmons.”

PRO and organiser of the night, Áine Reams said: “The night went very well. We would like to thank all those who came to support us at the quiz and to those who purchased tickets for the raffle, without your support it would not have been possible.

“We would like to thank the large list of businesses who most kindly donated prize money and prizes for both the table quiz and raffle. We also would like to thank the young volunteers on the night that ensured it went as smoothly as possible. We are very happy that we raised such a substantial amount as this money will go directly to our hospital to improve patient care,” she added.

The Friends of Portlaoise Hospital are raising money since 1991 in order to improve patient care and comforts at The Midlands Regional Hospital, Portlaosie.
