Former Laois Ladies manager appointed as Leinster interprovincial manager

Former Laois Ladies manager Kevin Doogue

Former Laois Ladies football manager Kevin Doogue has been appointed as the Leinster Interprovincial Manager for 2018.

Doogue stepped down as the Laois Ladies manager in August of this year, after they bowed out of the All-Ireland championship to Roscommon.

The Graiguecullen native managed the county side for three years, and was involved in both highs and lows for Laois Ladies football.

During this time they were relegated from senior to intermediate, but experienced a stellar championship campaign this year,  with winning the Leinster intermediate final against Wicklow.

Speaking after his resignation, he said: I’m gone now and it has been a rollercoaster. Anything I’ve asked of them they’ve given to me and I can’t thank them enough.”

The search is now on for the next Laois Ladies manager.

Management team

His interprovincial management team will also be made up of a Laois face or two, with Paul Garrigan, Denise Masterson, Martin Kelly, Mark Murnaghan, Dominic Leech, Alan Malone and Mountmellick woman Niamh O’Loughlin joining him.

We wish Kevin and the management the very best with their preparations for the Interprovincial tournament on November 24th, 2018.
