Planning Permission sought for a community use facility in Laois town

Planning permission has been sought for a major development in Durrow.

It has been lodged on behalf of Durrow Development Forum, Patrick Street, Durrow, Co Laois.

The developments will consist of the demolition of the former Civil Defense building and two associated storage buildings to its side and rear, and the demolition of a single story toilet extension to the side of the Former Methodist Chape.

The partition wall between the former Civil Defense site and the existing carpark will also be demolished.

The proposal is for the erection of a part single storey/part two storey community use facility.

This will be compromised of meeting rooms and related back up spaces, attached and internally connected to the Former Methodist Chapel/ICA Hall, a storage and boiler house building.

They will also enlarge and refurbish the existing car-park and associated site works.

It certainly seems like an exciting proposal.
