Flooding in Clonaslee, the ‘worst road in the county’ and repairs in Camross

A number of issues in the Borris-in-Ossory/Mountmellick municipal district area were highlighted at the latest area meeting.

Councillor Seamus McDonald raised the issues involving flooding and bad roads at the meeting.


Flooding in Clonaslee

It was proposed that a flooding problem in Ashbrook Clonaslee be resolved.

New acting senior engineer Stan Cullen said, “The issue has been investigated and the drain will be cleaned in the coming weeks.”


‘Worst road in the county’

A proposal to have the road at Brogala and Cush, Clonaslee, included in the 2019 Works Programme was also raised.

Cllr McDonald raised the motion, calling this, “The worst road in the county’.

Senior engineer Stan Cullen replied, saying: “This road will be inspected and evaluated against criteria for inclusion in the 2019 Roadworks Programme.”


Road repairs in Camross

Road repairs in Derrycarrow, Camross, are now completed after works were carried out on the site.
