2018 Remembered: In Pictures: Wild celebrations as Camross retain the Bob O’Keeffe Cup

In October the Camross senior hurlers achieved a remarkable feat by retaining the Bob O’Keeffe Cup.

No club has managed to retain the Bob O’Keeffe Cup since Castletown in 2003 but that has now changed as Camross reigned supreme once more.

It is a phenomenal achievement for Danny Owens’ men who have now won the league and championship double two years on the trot.

Our photographer Julie-Anne Miller was there to capture the celebrations.

Camross’s winnings for the year ended here as they lost to Naomh Eanna in the first round of the Leinster championship

What an incredible achievement by the lads from Camross.

No club has managed to retain the Bob O’Keeffe Cup since Castletown in 2003 but that has now changed as Camross reigned supreme once more.

It is a phenomenal achievement for Danny Owens’ men who have now won the league and championship double two years on the trot.

This is also the first time that Camross have put titles back-to-back since 1993-1994.

It also puts to bed their demons with Rathdowney-Errill in big championship games, having lost two finals – in 2010 and 2013 – as well as a couple of semi-finals.

Camross played with the breeze in the opening half but they struggled to get going for long spells.

They trailed by three points but finished the half with an unanswered 1-3 to take a lead that they never relinquished.

Our photographer Julie Anne Miller was out on the field at full time and she caught the best of the action.
