Laois hurling and football teams receive their two new kit vans for 2019

The Laois hurling and football backroom teams will have tow new kit vans driving them into the New Year.

Once again, two transit connect kit vans have been sponsored by Downey’s Autostop Portlaoise.

These are for the Laois hurling and football teams as well as for Cul Camps in 2019.

Keys the vehicles were handed over to two lifetime stalwarts of both Laois hurling and football – Pat Delaney and Ollie Byrne.

Pat Delaney has not only refereed an All Ireland final – but has given a lifetime of service to hurling in the county.

From referee, manager, selector, hurling board official and now kitman – Pat has done it all.

While kitman for Laois football teams for almost 40 years, Ollie Byrne has devoted a large portion of his life to his county and his club Portlaoise.

Ollie has to be one of the longest serving kitmen in this country and both his and Pat’s devotion to their roles is simply incredible.

Taking to Facebook, CLG Laois said: We would like to sincerely thank them for this fantastic gesture and support of Laois GAA. Our stalwart kit men received the keys tonight.”

Well wear gentlemen!
