The Laois minor hurlers continue their Leinster championship campaign this afternoon in St Conleth’s Park in Newbridge against Kildare.

This is the second of three group games and if Laois can win them all and top Tier 2, they will go straight through to Round 2 of the Leinster championship.

Laois began their campaign with a comfortable 2-21 to 0-7 win over Westmeath in O’Moore Park.

Wing forward Dan Delaney chipped in with 1-2 on the day and he was subsequently named Minor hurler of the week.

Laois have made one change to their team from that victory and it is an enforced one as wing back Noah Quinlan is out of the country on a school tour with Mountrath CS.

His place in the team goes to Mountrath’s Brian Bredin.

Laois’s group this year sees them play Kildare, Antrim and Westmeath/

The latter pair clash in Abbotstown this afternoon also.

The game takes place at 2pm in St Conleth’s Park in Newbridge on Saturday afternoon.
