Huge weekend ahead for Laois LGFA adult club championships

Saturday 18 and Sunday May 19 marks a huge weekend for the Laois LGFA as 12 teams are out in action across the senior, intermediate and junior division.

In the senior division, St Brigid’s take on county champions Sarsfields while Timahoe and Portlaoise will clash in Rathleague.

This year’s intermediate championship contains five teams – Park-Ratheniska, Graiguecullen, Ballyroan, St Joseph’s and St Paul’s battling for the county championship title and a shot in the ranks of senior football.

Park-Ratheniska face off against Ballyroan while St Paul’s and St Joseph’s will meet in round two of the intermediate championship.

Round one took place on Monday April 28 and 29. Here, St Joseph’s defeated Park-Ratheniska 4-13 to 3-6. The Graiguecullen versus St Paul’s game was abandoned while Ballyroan had a bye.

Round two of the junior championship features games between Clonaslee St Manman’s and Sarsfields and The Heath versus Killeshin.

The opening round saw Clonaslee St Manman’s defeat The Heath 3-12 to 2-7 while Balllyfin defeated Killeshin.
