Ballylinan hit Stradbally for seven while Courtwood stay in promotion hunt

Cathall Dunne got three goals and Gary Walsh got two as Ballylinan maintained their 100% record in ACFL Division 1B thanks to massive win over an understrength Stradbally side this evening.

Ballylinan led 3-9 to 2-1 at half time and held Stradbally scoreless in the second half to run out 29-point winners.

In the other game played this evening, Courtwood beat Mountmellick 3-11 to 0-13 to remain in second place.

They led 2-5 to 0-7 at the break and added a third goal in the second half to win by seven.

The game between Emo and Killeshin was postponed as a mark of respect to Emo man Frank Langford who died on Friday while Arles-Killeen beat St Joseph’s on Thursday.

There is another round of games this coming week with Courtwood hosting Emo on Wednesday and Stradbally are at home to St Joseph’s. On Friday Mountmellick meet Arles-Killeen while Ballylinan take on Killeshin.
