Not for the first time in the history of Laois football, Meath proved too strong for Laois in Croke Park.
This afternoon in GAA Headquarters they recorded a 3-13 to 0-10 win over John Sugrue’s side to book a Leinster final place in two weeks time and send Laois into the All Ireland Qualifiers.
Laois competed well with the Royals over the course of the 70 minutes but they struggled to turn their possession into scores.
Meath led 2-6 to 0-7 at half time and despite Laois having four decent goal chances in the second half, they couldn’t get the goal they needed.
And Meath made sure of the win when midfielder Bryan Menton got their third goal with ten minutes remaining.
Laois supporters will now turn their attention to tomorrow morning’s Round 2 Qualifier draw where Laois will find out who they’re playing – and where.
The Laois supporters were in good spirits before the game and our photographer Julie Anne Miller got a selection of good images around Jones Road.
