League semi final for Clough-Ballacolla, relegation for Mountmellick and all Thursday’s results

It was a busy night on the GAA front – albeit three of the games were played with nothing at stake.

All the Division 1A game were played without consequence as Portlaoise and O’Dempsey’s were already assured to meet in the final while The Heath and Arles-Kilcruise were already relegated.

In Division 1B, who would join St Joseph’s in the second relegation spot came down to a straight shoot-out between Mountmellick and Killeshin.

With both sides winning, Killeshin stay up and Mountmellick drop down to Division 2.

Meanwhile, in the Division 1A playoff, Clough-Ballacolla ran out two point winners over Mountrath to advance to face Portlaoise in the semi final on Monday.

The winner of that game will play Rathdowney-Errill in the decider on July 27.
