Clough-Ballacolla see off Portlaoise in Division 1A semi final and all tonight’s results

The Laois U-17 Celtic Challenge panel has been named

Clough-Ballacolla will face Rathdowney-Errill in the Division 1A hurling final after they defeated Portlaoise in the semi final tonight.

This was Clough-Ballacolla’s second team against Portlaoise’s first and the victors ran out two point winners.

They will now face Rathdowney-Errill’s second team in the final and that now means there will be no relegation from Division 1.

Rosenallis and The Harps were due to meet in the Division 1 relegation playoff final after losing semi finals to Abbeyleix and Castletown respectively.

However, as Rathdowney-Errill and Clough-Ballacolla already have teams in Division 1, they are not allowed to have two so that means that whoever wins the Division 1A final on July 27 cannot be promoted.

So that means that the relegation final between Rosenallis and The Harps no longer needs to take place.
