There’s another date for Laois GAA fans to mark in their calendars as Laois GAA’s annual Golf Classic takes place on Friday August 23.
Rathdowney Golf Club will be hosting the event for members of the public and panelists on both in the Laois football and hurling team in attendance.
Now’s your chance to see who’s the best Laois man and woman on the greens, as Laois hurlers swap their sticks for clubs, and the footballers put their long and short range shots to the test.
The four man scramble including lunch costs €200, with great prizes for winners on the day.
This year, the classic is being sponsored by Topcon – a Japanese manufacturer of optical equipment for ophthalmology and surveying.
Laois GAA’s Fergal Byron is the Technical Products Marketing Manager at Topcon in Great Britain and Ireland and he was instrumental in securing the sponsorship.
Meanwhile, Rathdowney Golf Club, where the classic will take place this year, have also made a very generous gesture to the Laois senior hurling team.
In association with main sponsor MW Hire, they have given every member of the team free membership in the golf club for the year.
They said: “In association with MW Hire, The Laois senior hurling panel and management team have been presented with membership of Rathdowney Golf Club in appreciation of the joy they have brought to their supporters this year.”
Fair play to all involved!
