In Pictures: Mountrath and Portarlington Cul Camps draw huge crowds

Brought to you in association with All Books and News Portlaoise

The sun was out and so were the young boys and girls of Mountrath and Portarlington as they gathered at their local GAA Cul Camps.

Both GAA clubs host two of the largest sports camps in Laois, and this work at underage level has paid off huge dividends for the areas.

There would have been some rivalry between the two camps – as they came up against each other in the U13 ‘B’ hurling league final, Mountrath coming out on top on this occasion.

Aside from hurling, Portarlington have also been highly successful at U13 football, reaching their first ever Feile in April of this year.

Skilled coaches were there to show all the tricks of the trade and to play a game or two with the enthusiastic youngsters from both Mountrath, Portarlington and their surrounding areas.

We halted their porgress just a small bit as we asked them for their photos yesterday but let them get back to learning from the best after a few action shots were taken.

If you spot any of your young sports fans let us know!
