Applegreen open for business at Junction 17 Midway outside Portlaoise

Applegreen have opened for business at Junction 17 at the Midway outside Portlaoise.

Open 24 hours a day, it brings the number of full-time and part-time jobs they have at the Midway to 49 which also includes Subway, Chopstix, Fresh and Bakewell.

The petrol station has been built as an extension of the existing building – and is a very impressive-looking construction – and the fourcourts is a four-pump island with an additional 28 parking spots.

“It has been a very busy couple of months,” says Applegreen’s regional manager Keith Ennis, “and a big undertaking building a petrol station onto an existing building.

“But we’re delighted with how it has worked out. We’re very proud to be employing 49 people at the Midway and we have a great team in place under manager Inga Gudaviciene.”

Fuel at the forecourts will be Applegreen fuelgood PowerPlus, a more concentrated additive so you get the best out of your car.

“fuelgood PowerPlus cleans up your engine as you drive, restoring your vehicle’s engine to a “like new” condition for a superior driving experience,” says the company on their website. “And best of all, at no extra cost to you.”

Set up in 1992, Applegreen are now at almost 200 locations around Ireland and almost 500 across Ireland, UK and USA. In total they employ over 11,000 people.
