William (Billy) Murphy

Billy passed away peacefully at his residence surrounded by his loving and devoted family in his 88th year. Billy will be greatly missed by his loving wife Millie, and his family Michael, Patrick, Mary and Catherine. Much loved grandfather of Aisleen, Gavin, Michelle, Shane, Amy, Katie and Eoghan. Predeceased by his brothers and sisters Breege, Connie, Dick, Tess, and baby brother Pat. Sadly missed by his brothers Tom (Galway) Mick, Jim (Rath) Fr. Sean (South Africa) Mary Mc Evoy (Portarlington) and Rose Dowler (Dublin). Daughter in-laws Geraldine and Kate, son in-law Frankie, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and a large circle of friends. Reposing at his residence (R32 K63X) on Monday from 4 o’clock until 9 o’clock. Reposing on Tuesday from 4 o’clock until 9 o’clock with recital of the Rosary on both evenings at 8 o’clock.

Arriving to the Sacred Heart Church Rath for 2 o’clock Requiem Mass on Wednesday. Interment to follow in the new Cemetery Emo.

Mary Keenan (née O’Rourke)
Gash Gardens, Castletown, Laois

Mary Keenan (nee O’Rourke), Gash Gardens, Castletown, Portlaoise, Co. Laois. October 4. 2019. Peacefully surrounded by her loving family in the wounderful care of the nurses and staff in the Brookhaven Nursing Home, Ballyragget.

Predeceased by her husband Noel and son John. Deeply regretted and will be sadly missed by her loving daughters Mary (Doyle) and Breda, sister Ann (Grehan), brothers Jim and Michael, sister-in-law Margaret, son-in-law Ross, granddaughters Caoilfhionn and Meadhbh, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing in Guilfoyle’s Funeral Home, Castletown, Mountrath (EirCode R32TN84) this Friday evening (Oct. 4th.) from 7 o’c with rosary in the funeral home 9 o’c and on Saturday afternoon from 2 o’c with removal at 5 o’c to St. Edmund’s Church, Castletown (Eircode R32KT22) arriving 5.15 o’c.

Funeral Mass on Sunday morning (Oct. 6th.) at 10.30 o’c with burial immediately afterwards in St. Fintan’s Cemetery, Mountrath.

Una Finney (née Williams)
Oakdale Nursing Home, Portarlington, Laois/Portarlington, Offaly/Kildare

Peacefully in the loving care of the nurses and staff of Oakdale Nursing Home Portarlington. Beloved wife of the late Canon Charles Finney.Deeply regretted by her loving daughter Pamela (Seale), sons Cyril and Alan, sister Ivy, son-in-law, daughters-in-law, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, grandchildren, great grandchildren, relatives and friends.

Reposing at her daughter Pamela’s house, Durrow (R32YD5X) from 7.00pm until 9.30pm this Friday evening. Removal to Saint Michael and All Angels Church, Abbeyleix on Saturday afternoon for Funeral Service at 3.00pm. Burial immediately afterwards in the adjoining Churchyard. House private on Saturday morning please. Family cut flowers only please. Donations, if desired, to N.C.B. Ireland.

Edward (Ted) Lawless
Tinryland, Carlow/Ballylinan, Laois

The death has occurred of Edward (Ted) Lawless, Aberdeen, Scotland, and formerly of Bramble House, Tinryland, Carlow and Ballinagar, Ballylinan, Co. Laois died unexpectely after a brief illness on the 3rd of October 2019.

Sadly missed by his heartbroken wife Deirdre, his children Eleanor and Brian, his son-in-law Gary and daughter-in-law Elin, his much adored grandchildren Pippa, James, Charlotte and Alex. Ted will be deeply missed by his brothers Michael, Jack (Willie), Dominic and his sisters Rita, Mary, Geraldine and Clare, his brothes and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, extended family, relatives and friends.

Doreen Byrne (née Bowles)
Coolbanagher, Emo, Laois

Peacefully at the Regional Hospital Tullamore. Sadly missed by her loving husband Oliver, family Yvonne, David, Trevor, Carol, Brian and Elaine, brother, sister, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family and friends.

Funeral service in St John’s Church Coolbanagher (eircode R32 N9 29) on Saturday at 2pm. Burial afterwards in the adjoining Churchyard.

Killyganard, Ballylinan, Athy, Kildare/Laois

Pre-deceased by his brother Denis, sisters Kathleen and Ita. Deeply regretted by his loving wife Kathleen, daughter Marilene, son Aaron, brothers John and Eddie, sister Mary, son-in-law Richard (Delaney), daughter-in-law Julie (Dawson), brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, grandchildren Bláithín (Dawson-Delaney), Laura and Rebecca, great-granchildren Katie, Rachel, Aoife, Ryan, Darren and Daniel, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Reposing at his residence (Eir Code R14 WC95) from 4pm on Saturday. Removal by Rigney’s Funeral Director’s on Monday morning to arrive at The Island Crematorium, Rocky Island, Ringaskiddy, Co. Cork for Cremation service at 2pm.

Refreshments (in honour of Joe Dawson) will be held in Pedigree Corner, The Pike, Ballylinan from 5.30pm on Monday evening. All are welcome.

House strictly private until 4pm on Saturday afternoon.
