Portlaoise footballers visit local schools ahead of this weekends county final clash

There was excitement this morning as members of the Portlaoise senior football team paid visit to schools in the town.

The team are gearing up for Sunday’s county final and what better way to seek some inspiration than visit the young fans.

Kieran Lillis paid a visit to Maples Creche where he was welcomed by excited fans who has their green and white flags out in force.

Paul Cahillane popped into the Holy Family Senior School where he met students ahead of this weekend’s clash.

Portlaoise face Killeshin on Sunday where they will be hoping for 3 in-a-row county titles while Killeshin will be looking for their first ever senior county final win.

Portlaoise overcame Portarlington in the semi-final where they suffered a scare but a strong second half performance got them over the line.

The game will take place in O’Moore Park on Sunday at 4pm.

Between the two teams, the stand will be flooded in green and white.
