In Pictures: Colour, craic and characters on county final day in O’Moore Park

County final day in O’Moore Park is always a special occasion and so it was again on Sunday in O’Moore Park when two titles were up for grabs and the supporters of four clubs showed up in large numbers.

Rathdowney-Errill got the better of Borris-Kilcotton in the senior final while Rosenallis held off a brave fight back from The Harps in the Senior ‘A’ decider to complete another hurling/football double.

As ever, a county final brought great colour and atmosphere to the Laois GAA venue.

Supporters from all of the clubs were in early to get a good seat and the colour and buzz was evident from early on.

Our photographer Julie Anne Miller captured a sample of that – of people arriving, of the stewards, the supporters and the players.

And she also captured some of those working – like photographers Denis Byrne and Alf Harvey, commentator Jack Nolan and dedicated county board officers like PRO Pat O’Sullivan.

And there’s some great candid images of children enjoying the occasion – some of whom were in the pre-match parade, others who played in the half time games.

You can check out a selection of the photos below.
