WATCH: Legendary Irish rugby player comes to Laois to try wheelchair rugby

The Laois Lions wheelchair team recently hosted Ex-Ireland rugby player Brian O’Driscoll at their training base in Vicarstown Community Centre.

This visit was a part of a campaign by Gym and Coffee to tell amazing stories of communities coming together through sport or to exercise.

In the video set beside Annanough GAA, Brian chats to young Tallaght woman Ciara Staunton.

Ciara shares her experience in the sport and talks about how positively it has impacted her life.

When Ciara suffered spinal injuries after a car crash in 2006 she became paralyzed from the neck down.

Ciara’s life was changed forever that day but that didn’t stop her from participating in the things that she loves.

In this video, she shows Brian O’Driscoll how to play wheelchair rugby and he certainly didn’t hold back.

This club brings incredible support to its members and fills them all with a wonderful sense of community.

In a very emotional interview Ciara says: “I wouldn’t be where I was if it weren’t for rugby”
