Huge Laois contingent as St Leo’s advance in Leinster football championship

St Leo’s College senior football team advanced to the semi final of the Leinster senior ‘B’ football semi final following a fine win last week.

The Carlow school, who have a huge Laois contingent, defeated Gorey Community School in the quarter final.

Players come from St Brigid’s, Graiguecullen and Killeshin and they enjoyed a huge win over Wexford side.

They ran out 8-13 to 7-4 winners and did it despite missing one of their key players.

Captain and Kildare goalkeeper Amy O’Shea was ruled out but the girls were triumphant and they now march on to the semi final.

They will now face Loreto of Balbriggan in Dublin in the semi final which is down to be played after Christmas.
