In Pictures: Laois GAA 5th/6th class Town League a great success

Over the past months 5th/6th students from Portlaoise and surrounding areas have taken part in the town league.

The competition which is in its third year now is for the children who do not represent their school in Cumman Na mBunscoil competitions and gives them a chance to wear the school colours and get a taste for the game.

Class football town leagues took place in the LOETB Laois Training Centre, where it saw host to over 250 5th/6th children who take part in the three day blitz, where the finals took place on Wednesday November 27.

The schools that participated were: Holy family Senior NS, Gaelscoil NS, Educate Together NS, Ballyfin NS, Barnashrone NS and Scoil Bhride NS.

Laois Coaching and Games wish to extend their thanks to all teachers and children from all the schools who attended on the day and also would like to thank all schools for their continued support with promoting GAA across the Urban area of Portlaoise.

They can now look forward to their hurling/Camogie town leagues that will be starting after Christmas.

These Leagues will again feature similar teams in an effort to promote the game.

This looked to be a great event for all who participated and it was well enjoyed by students and teachers alike.
