Sympathy for Laois Parish Priest on the death of his mother

Sympathies to Portarlington Parish Priest Fr Tom Dooley on the passing of his mother

Expressions of sympathy and condolences have been extended to a Laois Parish Priest on the death of his mother.

The Parish Priest of Portarlington, Very Rev Fr Tom Dooley has been bereaved with the passing of his mother, Bridget, in his native Wicklow.

A vote of sympathy with Fr Dooley was passed at yesterday’s December monthly meeting of Laois County Council. It was proposed by the Chairman, Cllr Willie Aird as sympathy was also extended and a minutes silence observed out of respect for other members of the local authority staff who had also been bereaved.

The Portarlington Community forum, Love Port’ also extended their condolences to Father Dooley on his loss.

Bridget Dooley (nee Rowe) affectionately known as Bibi of Chapel Hill, Baltinglass, Co. Wicklow died on December 12, 2019 peacefully at Naas Hospital. Beloved wife of the late Tommie.

Sadly missed by her loving sons Fr. Tommie, Brendan and John, daughter Mary (Osborne), her sister Lena (USA), daughters-in-law Josie and Carmel, son-in-law, Peadar; much loved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, brother-in-law, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Bridget was laid to rest on Sunday December 15 in Baltinglass Cemetery.
