2019 Remembered: In Pictures: 92-year-old Laois woman makes first ever Electric Picnic appearance

Mrs Maureen O'Callaghan visits Electric Picnic 2019

You’re only as old as you feel!

What a great story. We’ll never not want to be reminded of this.

They say you are only as old as you feel – and this Laois woman certainly proves that theory!

Laois woman Maureen O’Callaghan made her first ever trip to the Electric Picnic Music Festival on Sunday – at the grand age of 92!

Stradbally native Mrs O’Callaghan has watched revellers head into The Lawn to enjoy the festival for the past 15 years and decided this year that she would check it out for herself.

She took a trip to the Main Stage, sampled some of the acts, and also called in to see her favourite restaurant, Stradbally Fayre, who have a van in the arena for the last number of years.

All in all Mrs O’Callaghan had a brilliant day and our thanks to Martina Cahill for sending these brilliant pictures our way.

Maureen was one of over 57,000 people who came through the gates yesterday for the final day of Electric Picnic 2019.

Once again, the rain stayed away and punters were treated to brilliant performances from the likes of Sam Fender, Jess Glynne, All Tvvins and Kodaline.

This year’s Electric Picnic was brought to a close by Florence + The Machine – in a simply stunning and mesmorizing display.

Check out some great picture of Mrs O’Callaghan and hopefully now that she has got a taste of the Electric Picnic – she’ll be back again in 2020!
