2019 Remembered: Disqualified driver found 10 times over the legal limit of alcohol at local checkpoint

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to a hit and run

In May, disqualified driver was found 10 times over the legal limit of alcohol.

A disqualified driver has been found 10 times over the legal limit for alcohol at local checkpoint this morning, Saturday May 4.

Offaly Roads Policing carried out a Mandatory Intoxicant Checkpoint this morning in Tullamore.

According to the Garda Síochána Laois Offaly Facebook page, a court appearance is to follow.

As we come into another Bank Holiday weekend, gardai are advising road users that the garda presence on the roads across the region will be greater than ever.

Additional checkpoints will be set up in both day and night time.

Motorists are being advised that inappropriate speed, driving with a mobile phone in use, drink driving or failing to wear a seatbelt are all motoring offences.
