Camogie is one of the fastest growing sports in Laois and now one of it clubs has announced that it will enter an adult team for the first time.
Clough-Ballacolla have announced that they will enter a team into the Laois Junior Camogie championship in 2020.
Clough-Ballacolla Camogie club was established in 2016 and is growing from strength to strength with the fantastic work of the club committee, mentors and players.
A club spokesperson said: “The club will field their first ever Junior Camogie team this year.
“It is full steam ahead with indoor training already commenced since January.
“The Junior team welcomes any players over 16 years-of-age, those who wish to return to Camogie who might not have not played for years or anyone who has a passion for Camogie and who would love to be involved.
“It’s an opportunity for women to get out, get fit, have some fun and be part of a team.”
Local Builders CMD Construction Ballacolla, Laois, established over 20 years, have kindly sponsored a set of jerseys for the Junior Team.
CMD Construction is a family run business, led by Colm and Mick Delaney, who specialise in the building of top quality new homes, extensions and renovations.
With the growing numbers of U-6 girls joining the camogie club, a new set of jerseys have also been sponsored by local business man Danny Hanlon of Hanlon Kitchens.
