Man flown to hospital in ‘unresponsive state’ following attack in Laois

A man has been flown to hospital in ‘an unresponsive state’ following an attack in Laois today.

According to BreakingNews.ie, the incident happened this evening.

The man, aged in his 20s, is believed to have been found unresponsive in Fr Breen Park in Abbeyleix in Laois.

A post on the ABBEYLEIX Facebook page showed how Gardai and the Irish Air Corps attended the scene.

They said: “An Irish Air Corps support helicopter called into assist the ambulance emergency services along side Garda Síochána Laois Offaly to airlift a person from Fr Breen Park this evening.

“We hope everyone is OK.”

Gardaí confirmed to BreakingNews.ie that a man was found unconscious nearby following a row between a group of men.

The outlet understands that a hatchet may have been used during the incident.
