It is tough being a student at the moment.
Since March 12, they have been taken out of their classroom setting and forced to change their learning environment to their homes.
That is tough for everyone and especially those who are hoping to sit Leaving and Junior Cert exams in the summer.
And so, the staff of Portlaoise College have come together to produce a video with a heartwarming and uplifting message.
Deputy Principal Keith McClearn said: “The message of the video is simple, we wanted to say Hello to all our students and maybe put a smile on their faces by watching the video.
“We want all our students to stay safe and positive and we will all get through this uncertainty together and soon we will all be back in the classroom.”
But the school teachers weren’t the only ones to get creative.
In response to their video, Junior Cert student Fionn Abbey, who comes from Stradbally, made a cracking video himself.
Fionn got creative and produced an excellent video showing what life is like keeping up with his subjects at home.
