Fifth annual Buds & Blossoms Festival falls victim to Coronavirus

The Buds and Blossoms Laois Garden Festival has become the latest event to be cancelled due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

This June was set to see the fifth staging of an event, in Spink, which has grown in popularity immensely over the years.

Secretary David Dwyer confirmed the news in a statement.

He said: “Due to the Government guidelines on COVID-19 pandemic, Spink GAA in consultation with Laois Garden Festival has had to postpone the Laois Garden/Buds and Blossoms festival scheduled for Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th June 2020, to June 2021.

“Health and Safety of our attendees, speakers, exhibitors and volunteers is paramount.

“It is intended to reschedule this 2020 Laois garden/Buds and Blossoms festival for Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th June 2021.

“While this is a disappointment for club members and visitors alike it is in the best interests of all concerned.

“We wish to thank the frontline workers for everything they are doing to keep us all safe.

“We look forward to working with Laois Garden Festival in bringing Laois to the fore in 2021 with a garden festival to remember.”
