Two men have been charged in court following the seizure of €280,000 worth of cocaine in Portlaoise and Kill in Kildare.
Gardaí from the DMR West Divisional Drugs Unit, investigating the sale and supply of controlled drugs in West Dublin and Kildare, carried out a search of a car in Portlaoise and a house in Kill in north Kildare on Thursday, May 28.
They arrested two men and both have been charged in court over the past two days.
The man, in his 40s, was arrested in Portlaoise and appeared before Portlaoise District Court, on Friday morning, May 29 at 10.30am and was released on bail.
He is due to appear in Court again at a later date.
The man in his 50s who was arrested in Kill has appeared before Criminal Courts of Justice, this morning, Saturday, May 30.
He was remanded in custody and is due to appear before Cloverhill District Court on Tuesday, June 2.
A Garda press release this evening said that investigations are ongoing.
