Fifty Seven Boutique in Portarlington announce details of closing down sale

Fifty Seven Boutique and Gift Emporium have announced that they are closing their Portarlington store and will hold a closing down sale for the next two weeks, beginning tomorrow Monday, August 10.

They will be keeping their Durrow and Athy stores open as well as expanding their online presence.

Fifty Seven Boutique was opened by Mary Miller in 2003 on Main Street in Portarlington. Mary’s daughter Jenny joined the business in recent years with a store in Athy opening in 2017 and in Durrow in 2019.

In a statement issued this evening, they explained the decision.

“As we all know, changes to our society, our personal lives and our businesses have been happening at a rate deemed impossible by many just a few short months ago,” said Mary Miller, “with the situation now all the more difficult for those of us residing in Laois, Offaly and Kildare.

“Thankfully, Fifty Seven has grown in recent years to three fabulous stores and an ever expanding loyal customer base, who once introduced to the quality of products, service and experience offered in FiftySeven stores keep returning for more.

“However in the new normal world we now inhabit – everyone has had to change how they operate and we  here in Fifty Seven are no different.

“Today we are announcing some changes we have decided to introduce as we plan and work towards a new and better future for Fifty Seven. Our Portarlington store will be closing down.

“This will allow us to devote more of our energies to developing our online store and also ensure that the service offered in our stores in Durrow and Athy remain exceptionally high.

“Our closing down sale will be starting here in Portarlington on Monday at 10:30am, giving our local customers one last chance to secure some quality products at knockdown prices.

“Our sale will be held with complete compliance of all public heath guidelines to ensure your shopping experience is a safe and enjoyable one.

“I wish to finish by thanking the people of Portarlington for 17 years and all the great friends we have made along the way.

“To Ber and Margaret, a huge thank you for your hard work, loyalty and support.

“Seventeen years of hardwork and continuous effort has allowed us to build the business into something we are extremely proud of.

“As we now look to the future we are excited to bring the same honesty and integrity to our business we always have, and ensure we continue to offer our customers the products and service they know and trust from Fifty Seven Boutique stores in Athy, Durrow and on our online store – Mary & Jenny Miller.”
