Online parish concert set to conclude after 24 weeks

Michael English will perform at the Rathdowney Parish online concert

A hugely popular weekly online parish concert will show its final performance today.

Back in March, Fr Martin Delaney launched an online concert live every week via webcam from the Rathdowney church.

Thousands of viewers have enjoyed 22 different performers over the last six months.

Today’s final concert will take place at 1pm and will feature Irish country singer Michael English – who hails from Castledermot.

Fr Martin Delaney said: “We have had 22 different acts of all genres of music. Two of the artists, Martin Delaney and Paul O’Brien performed twice.

“The concerts have drawn thousands of listeners and viewers.

“The videos of the various performances are uploaded on the Rathdowney Parish website and people continue to enjoy their favourite artists.

“Our final concert on Tuesday will feature Michael English.

“Last December Michael performed in Rathdowney to a packed church but this week he will be on his own in the building but reaching out to his many fans via the Webcam.”

You can watch his performance which will be streamed live on www.rathdowneyparish.ie webcam.
