Talking Sport Podcast: Ladies football final preview, hurling semi-finals and intermediate football

Stephen Duff and Aileen O'Loughlin are the guests on this week's LaoisToday Talking Sport Podcast

It’s another huge weekend of GAA action in Laois with big games down for decision in both hurling and football.

Our latest Talking Sport Podcast begins with ladies football this week as we’re joined by Portlaoise manager Stephen Duff and Sarsfields selector Aileen O’Loughlin to look ahead to Saturday’s senior final between the two clubs.

Can Sarsfields claim a record-breaking eighth title in a row or can Portlaoise win an historic first?

We also look back on the ladies junior and intermediate finals where there was county final success for Graiguecullen and Shanahoe respectively.

And there a number of massive games in the Laois hurling championships as well with the pick of the games being Sunday’s Laois SHC semi-finals. Surprise package Rosenallis will be looking to continue their brilliant season when they take on Clough-Ballacolla while champions Rathdowney-Errill and Clough-Ballacolla meet in a repeat of last year’s final in the second semi-final.

We also look ahead to the Premier Intermediate and Intermediate semi-finals which see Portlaoise meet Camross and Slieve Bloom take on The Harps in the Premier grade while in the ordinary Intermediate, Trumera take on Clough-Ballacolla and Rathdowney-Errill and Borris-Kilcotton also meet.

Steven and Alan also chat about the relegation games in the top three tiers where Castletown and Ballinakill meet in the senior, Colt-Shanahoe and Mountrath do battle in the Premier Intermediate and Ballypickas and Park-Ratheniska/Timahoe face off in the Intermediate.

And there is also football championship to preview as Clonaslee meet The Rock and Crettyard face Mountmellick in the Laois IFC semi-finals.
