On our latest Down Memory Lane Podcast, we’ve gone back to 2011 to remember the incredible season enjoyed by the Killeshin footballers.

They won the intermediate championship for the first time in 18 years and while that was a significant breakthrough, it was their appearance on the RTE programme Celebrity Bainisteoir that really captured the imagination.

Managed by former Irish soccer international Tony Cascarino, the programme caused a welter of excitement in the small rural Laois community, culminating with an extra time final success over Galway side Michael Breathnachs under the Parnell Park floodlights.

Presenter Steven Miller is joined by Gavin Deering, Pauric Bolton and Gavin Brennan to look back on that incredible series of games, one that saw them play on five successive weekends.
