Appeal for information following robbery of woman after mass in Laois village

Gardai in Laois are appealing for information following the robbery of woman after mass in Laois village.

On Sunday December 20, a robbery took place in the Cappard area of Rosenallis.

A woman, believed to be in her 80s, was followed home from mass and stopped in her driveway.

A quantity of cash, believed to be more than €1,000, was subsequently taken from her there.

Gardai have put out the following appeal:

They say: “Portlaoise Detective Unit and Mountmellick Gardaí are investigating a robbery in the Cappard area of Rosenallis on Saturday December 20.

“A lady was followed from mass and a quantity of cash taken from her in her driveway.

“We are appealing for anyone who may have seen anything in the area between 7-30 and 8-30pm to contact us at 0578674100.”
