Laois Gardai: Attempted burglary in Timahoe and dog theft in Abbeyleix as weekend patrols begin

Laois Gardai are continuing their high visibility patrols around Laois amenities this weekend.

They have advised the public to remain within a 5km vicinity of their home when partaking in outdoor activities.

Gardai will have the power to fine all adults in a vehicle or a group who have breached the public health regulations.

Meanwhile, Gardai are appealing for information on two incidents that happened during the week.

They reported an attempted burglary that took place in Timahoe at 6pm on January 21. The Angelus was on in the house at the time as the intruders were disturbed and fled the scene.

Gardai are appealing for any information of the suspects vehicle in the area around that time. They want people with any information to contact Portlaoise Garda Station on 0579674100.

While officers in Abbeyleix are investigating the theft of four dogs from a house in the Killeen, Maganey on January 21 between 6pm and 10pm.

Gardai described the dogs as follows: “One Female Bichon Frise, approximately five years old, white in colour, only recently clipped so hair is very short. Is micro chipped.

“One Bichon Frise, 2 week old female pup, white in colour.

“One Cavalier/Bichon Frise cross, female, 5 weeks old, brown and white.

“One male poodle, golden colour, approx 5years old and is micro chipped.”
