LaoisToday Podcast: Cathal Berry on his first year in the Dáil, hopes for Portarlington and his views on the Government

It’s exactly a year since the 2020 General Election and on this week’s LaoisToday Podcast we catch up with one of the stories of that campaign – Independent TD Cathal Berry.

The former Army Ranger and medical doctor won a seat in Kildare South, harnessing the support of the Defence Force community and a significant level of support in Portarlington, which is now in that constituency.

In this interview, he chats about growing up in Waterford, joining and leaving the army and what his first year in the Dail has been like.

He also gives his view on how the Government has handled the Coronavirus pandemic and what Minister for Health Stephen Donnelly can do to improve his performance.

You can listen to the interview in full below on Soundcloud or on Apple Podcasts or Spotify.
