All of this week, a Laois GAA club are encouraging people to get out and do a 5km walk in aid of Portlaoise Hospital.
Colt GAA club began their fundraiser last Sunday and they will finish up on Sunday March 7.
They are asking everyone to get out, complete a walk, and then make a donation on their GoFundMe Page or to committee members who will be at their pitch.
All money raised will then be passed onto staff in a bid to say ‘thank you’ for all of their work during the pandemic.
PRO Nathan Dunne said: “Colt GAA would like to take this time to show our appreciation towards all the frontline staff that have steered us through this pandemic.
“We hope this can go towards a nice treat when the chance arises.
“For those who can, it’s a perfect opportunity to make use of our lighted walking track to get those steps in.
“Please upload any of your walks onto Facebook with a picture and we will share some of the pictures on our Facebook page.
“We will have committee members in the pitch if the preference is to donate in person via cash.
“Members will be there from 11am to 12pm and 5pm to 6pm on weekends.
“While midweek, we will have someone in the pitch between 7pm and 8pm.”
