Watch: Timahoe students celebrate St Patrick’s Day with brilliant video parade

It would take more than a pandemic to stop schools marking the very important occasion of St Patrick’s Day.

The annual parade in Timahoe village was sidelined again this year due to Covid 19.

But the children of Scoil Mhuire Fatima weren’t deterred as they donned their green, white and gold to pull off the first ever ‘virtual parade’ in Timahoe.

And what a success it was.

Hats, flags, headbands and t-shirts were the order of the day as all classes from Junior Infants to 6th in the mainstream school and the two classes in the Early Intervention Naíscoil marked St Patrick’s Day in style.

The children maintained their class bubbles as per Covid protocols and marched around the yard/hall in their colours and performed songs and poems as Gaeilge.

A special thank you to local videographer, Ross Molloy for piecing all the action together.

See video below which is sure to bring a smile to your face!
