Three organisations joining forces for huge fundraiser in Laois village this weekend

The community of Ballinakill has been synonymous with community spirt and pride of place for many years.

This May Bank Holiday three of their local organisations are coming together to get active for 24 hours.

Ballinakill National School, Ballinakill Community Development Association and Ballinakill GAA Club Juvenile Section are joining forces to organise a 24 hour 5Km over the course the May Bank Holiday weekend.

All three organisations are focused on nurturing and fostering a sense of place in our children and Laois Ladies football goalkeeper Eimear Barry explained where the money raised will go.

She said: “Over the past number of years we have as a community witnessed a growth in our community organisations as we attempt to support our growing young population.

“With plans well established to provide the community with a state of the art playground to accompany our renowned outdoor pool, the rebirth of our juvenile hurling teams within the village supported by the development of a state of the art hurling arena and all built upon the education foundation provided by our National School we as a community are excited for the opportunities that lie ahead for youth.

“Your support is greatly appreciated in this venture to support our youngest parishioners.”
