New cafe to open at popular Glenbarrow Falls ahead of tearooms development

The Falls Glenbarrow

Coffee is the order of the day all over the country – and a hugely popular Laois beauty spot is to get a new cafe which will open next week.

Mark Sherlock and Roisin Fitzpatrick are working on developing a tearooms at Glenbarrow and while that project isn’t ready just yet, they will be working from a food truck from next week.

The Falls at Glenbarrow is due to open next Thursday, May 6.

“We will initially be trading out of The Falls catering trailer for the foreseeable few months,” explained Roisin.

“Take away is the order of the day these days so we will happily adapt to that and provide plenty of outdoor seating, barista coffee, selection of teas and baked goods.

“There will be a lot of staycations this summer and everyone enjoy the outdoor life & appreciating the beauty in their own back yard, which the Slieve Bloom Mountains has in abundance!

“It’s such a beautiful part of the county and we feel really lucky to see all our plans coming to life.

“But people will have to bear with us for another while longer until we have the cottage fully converted in to the idyllic Falls Tearoom the area deserves!”

All over the country – and Laois is no different – various new coffee temporary coffee outlets have opened where people are going to walk during these Coronavirus times.
