John Hickey

John Hickey, Kyle, Rathdowney, Co. Laois. April 30th 2021. Peacefully at home. Predeceased by his parents Margaret and George and his brothers Tommy, Georgie and Paddy. Deeply regretted by his brothers Noel, Michael and Peter, sisters Marie, Joan, Breda and Margaret, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, neighbours, relatives and friends.

Due to the COVID-19 Directive and in line with current guidelines a private funeral has been arranged for immediate family only. The funeral mass will be live streamed from Galmoy Church on Sunday at 10.15 am followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery. (churchcamlive.ie/galmoy-parish). No flowers by request. Michael Moore
Monavea, Crettyard, Carlow/Crettyard, Laois

Michael Moore of Monavea, Crettyard and formerly of Tolerton, Co. Laois, passed away unexpectedly, on April 29th, 2021.

Beloved husband of Hannah, much loved father of Michele, Adrienne, Micheál, Siobhán and the late Mary and adored grandfather of Ciara, Tara, Órla, Darragh, Niall, Shane and Colm.

He will be sadly missed by his loving wife, son, daughters, grandchildren, sons-in-law Kevin and Ciarán, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

May Michael’s Gentle Soul Rest in Peace.

Due to continued restrictions on public gatherings, Michael’s Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the presence of his family on Sunday, at 11am, in The Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mayo, Co Laois and will be followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

If neighbours wish to show their support to the family, they could stand outside their houses (while adhering to social distancing guidelines) as the funeral cortége leaves his residence on the way to the church at 10.30am approx.

Cornelius (Con) Phelan
Johnsborough/Cardtown, Mountrath, Laois

Cornelius (Con) Phelan, Johnsborough/Cardtown, Mountrath, Co.Laois. – Died 29th April 2021, (peacefully) at home after a short illness, in the loving care of his family. Deeply regretted by his adoring parents Daniel Oliver and Mary, sisters Kathy, Sharon (Mountmellick), Olive (UK), Roisin (Tullamore) and brother Danny (Australia), brothers-in-law Diarmaid, Andries, Tom and Kieran, sister-in-law Lisa, nephews, nieces, Eve, Joe, Daniel, Ciaran, Rossa, Tilly, Donal and Muireann, aunts, uncles, neighbours and friends. Given the current exceptional circumstances and to protect the welfare of everyone who knew him, a private funeral, with immediate family only, will take place at 12 noon on Saturday, 1st May, in St. Cronan’s Church Roscrea, followed by Burial in St. Fergal’s Cemetery, Camross.

Canice ‘Ken’ Doheny
Ballinalacken, Ballinakill, Laois/Kilkenny

Following an accident. Ken will be greatly missed by his loving brothers Michael and Séan, sisters Mary and Nora, sisters-in-law Patricia and Jacqueline.

Also, his adoring and adored nieces and nephew Suzi, Noeleen, Jennie, Zoe, John and Shonagh, along with his much loved grandnieces and grandnephew Amelia, Liadh, Sloane, Lucy and Rian. Also, his extended family, many relations, great neighbours and friends from both Lisnagry, Limerick & Castlecomer GC.

In accordance with the current recommendations, Ken’s funeral will take place privately. Family Flowers only please.

Brophy (Laois and Dublin) April 27th, 2021. Peacefully surrounded by his loving family at St. James’s Hospital, Martin, late of Well Road, Portlaoise and formerly of Montpelier Park and An Post, Sheriff Street.

Beloved son of the late Richard and Kathleen and much loved father of Mark, Siobhán and Sarah. Sadly missed by his loving family, his brothers, sisters, daughters-in-law Lisa and Sarah, grandchildren Jacob and Abigail, relatives, neighbours and friends.

In line with Government and HSE advice regarding public gatherings a small private funeral will take place.

The death has occurred of John Duggan, Clonboyne, Portlaoise, Co. Laois, tragically on April 27th 2021.

Beloved husband of Anna and sadly missed by his parents Dan and Margaret, brothers Liam and Cyril, sisters Ann and Noeleen, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and all of his extended family, neighbours and a large circle of friends.

O’Brien, Stephen, Horsham, Essex, England and formerly Green Mill Lane, Portlaoise, March 21st 2020. Peacefully. Deeply regretted by his loving family, Caroline, Coleen, Alexis, Bernadette, Stephen and Gerard, his loving sister Bernadette O`Neill (Portlaoise), his many relatives and friends in Portlaoise and England.

Funeral prayers in Keegans Funeral Home, at 2 pm on this Friday, followed by interment in SS Peter and Paul’s Cemetery, Portlaoise. Funeral will be conducted in line with government guidelines regarding Covid. Many thanks.
