Two changes to Laois hurling team for Sunday’s clash with Clare

Laois hurling manager Seamas ‘Cheddar’ Plunkett has made two changes to his team to take on Clare on Sunday in Division 1 of the National Hurling League.

Castletown’s Conor Phelan and Eoin Gaughan from Camross come into the side with the injured Podge Delaney and Aaron Dunphy the ones to make way.

It’ll be Delaney’s first game to miss in some time after he limped off late on in last week’s home loss to Dublin.

Gaughan makes his first start of the year at corner-forward alongside Ross King and PJ Scully in the full-forward line.

Clare, meanwhile, have delayed naming their team after two of their players were deemed close contacts of Wexford players who were confirmed Coronavirus cases.

Laois and Clare have both lost their first two games with Clare losing to Antrim and Wexford and Laois going down to Wexford and Dublin.

The loser of tomorrow’s game will be in danger of ending up bottom of the division and in a relegation playoff.

The game throws in at 3pm in O’Moore Park and we’ll be live blogging all of the action.

The Laois team in full is: Enda Rowland; Donncha Hartnett, Sean Downey, Diarmuid Conway; Conor Phelan, Matthew Whelan, Jack Kelly; Paddy Purcell, Fiachra C Fennell; Ciaran Collier, Cha Dwyer, James Ryan; Eoin Gaughan, Ross King, PJ Scully.
