LaoisToday Podcast: John Whelan of Vanhalla.ie on his camper van conversion and travelling around Ireland and Europe

On this week’s LaoisToday Podcast, we’re joined by John Whelan, camper van enthusiast and the man behind the Vanhalla.ie blog.

A former newspaper editor and Labour senator, one of John’s great passions is getting into his converted Ford Transit camper van and heading off on his latest adventure, be it to Lahinch, Valentia Island, Rossnowlagh or further afield to France or Spain.

John talks to us about he bought his van in Downey’s Autostop in Portlaoise and used a business in Clare for a bespoke camper van conversion.

He chats about his favourite spots around the country and why Laois as a county can be doing so much more to attract visitors.

He also gives plenty of helpful advice to anyone considering a camper van purchase and some of the basic things you need to know as you set off on your adventures.

for campsite recommendations, roadtrip reviews, campervan conversion tips and all things camping go to www.vanhalla.ie.
