Laois secondary school receives approval to tender for new works

Minister of Education Norma Foley has given the green light to proceed to tender for refurbishment works for Portlaoise College.

This funding will see improvements works completed to the Construction Studies room, Art room and a Special Education Needs room for the college.

Minister for State Sean Fleming welcomed the news and praised the school for all their hard work.

He said: “Portlaoise College has a great reputation and the efforts between students, teachers and families working together ensures that every student who attends has the opportunity to achieve their goals.

“The Principal, teachers and support staff along with the LOETB should be commended for their work.

“I know that everyone who attends the college now and in the future will benefit from the upgrades to these rooms.

“Finally, with the Leaving Cert 2021 commencing today I would like to also take this opportunity to wish every student the very best of luck and success now and in their future.”
